1. Introduction and Objectives

Introduction of the workshop’s purpose and goals, emphasising the importance of innovation maturity, process maturity, and understanding cultural differences in fostering innovation.

2. Innovation Maturity Models and Assessment

Participants will learn about innovation maturity models, with the focus on measuring the five distinct areas 1) Impulses for innovation, 2) Idea generation, 3) Idea implementation, 4) Innovation organisation, and 5) Innovation culture. The impact of hierarchy and respect for authority on innovation maturity in Asian corporate culture is also discussed, along with strategies for promoting innovation within hierarchical environments.

 

Impulses for innovation and Idea generation

3. Design Thinking Approaches

This section introduces design thinking principles and their role in innovation impulses and idea generation. Case studies to highlight Design Thinking successes and challenges are discussed in the light of the maturity assessment model. We discuss how the design thinking methods align with the collectivist nature of Asian cultures.

 

Idea implementation

4. Lean and Agile Enterprise Principles

Participants will learn about lean and agile principles and their relevance to idea implementation processes. The integration of these principles in innovation maturity assessment and development is discussed, along with best practices for implementation and strategies for managing risk and promoting experimentation in Asian corporate culture.

Participants will discuss the importance of incentivising innovation and explore ways to reward and recognise innovative behaviour. They will brainstorm incentive structures that respect cultural norms while promoting innovation.

10. Encouraging Side Projects

Participants will discuss the benefits of allowing employees to work on side projects and learn about successful examples. They will be encouraged to consider how they can support side projects within their organisations in a culturally sensitive manner.

11. Legal considerations: IP Strategies for Organizations

Participants will learn best practices for developing and implementing IP strategies within organisations and discuss the role of IP management in promoting innovation and protecting valuable assets.

12. Innovation Maturity Assessment Skills Development

Participants will practice innovation process maturity assessment techniques in relation to their organisations and discuss the findings in relation to the topics covered during the workshop.

13. Creating a Roadmap for Improvement

This section guides participants in developing a roadmap for improving innovation and process maturity in their organisations. They will discuss the importance of aligning development with organisational goals and implementing policies that promote innovation while respecting cultural norms.
