The Coaching Path

Discover how coaching unlocks your potential for excellence

Coaching does this by focusing on the future rather than the past because the future is where the client can create change and make a difference. The past is important to learn from, but it cannot be changed.

Coaching helps the client to identify their strengths, values, and vision for the future, and to use them as a guide for their actions. Coaching also helps the client to anticipate and prepare for potential challenges, opportunities, and scenarios that might arise in the future, and to develop strategies and skills to deal with them effectively.

By looking into the future, coaching empowers the client to take charge of their own destiny and achieve their desired outcomes.

Below you can discover an outline of a typical coaching journey, approach, and background of why coaching helps in unlocking your potential for excellence!

1) Establish Relationship

Discovering the client’s goals and vision. A coach guides and helps clients clarify what they want to achieve, align it with their values and purpose, and identify any gaps or obstacles that might prevent them from reaching their desired outcomes. This is a continuous discovery but an important part of the first complimentary chemistry session.

2) Coaching

Encouraging self-discovery and learning: A coach uses powerful questions, active listening, feedback and other tools to stimulate the client’s thinking, awareness and creativity, and to elicit their own solutions and strategies.

3) In-between Sessions

The client’s role and responsibilities in between coaching sessions: Reflect on progress and challenges and share them with the coach at the beginning of the next session. This helps the coach to understand the client’s situation, provide feedback, and adjust the coaching plan accordingly. Communicate with the coach if they encounter any difficulties, need additional support, or want to celebrate their successes. The coach is there to provide encouragement, accountability, and guidance throughout the coaching process.

4) Closing and Evaluation

Celebrating success and growth: A coach acknowledges the client’s achievements, strengths and learnings, and celebrates their successes along the way. A coach also helps the client to reflect on their growth, identify new goals and opportunities, and sustain their motivation and performance.

1) Coaching approach

Coaching focuses on the future rather than the past because the future is where we can create change and make a difference. The past is important to learn from, but it cannot be changed.

2) Building on strengths

Coaching helps the coachees to identify their strengths, values, and vision for the future, and to use them as a guide for their actions.

3) Possible futures

Coaching also helps the coachees to anticipate and prepare for potential challenges, opportunities, and scenarios that might arise in the future, and to develop strategies and skills to deal with them effectively.

4) Empowerment

By looking into the future, coaching empowers the client to take charge of their own destiny and achieve their desired outcomes.

1) Psychological capital

Professional coaching works because it helps develop a positive psychological state that enhances their performance and well-being. According to research, coaching facilitates what is called psychological capital (PsyCap), which consists of four dimensions: self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and resilience.

2) Self-efficacy

Self-efficacy is the belief and confidence in one’s capabilities. Coaching increases self-efficacy by helping the client to set and achieve goals, and to reflect on their successes

3) Hope

Hope is a motivational state that involves having a sense of agency and a clear path to achieve one’s goals. Coaching fosters hope by encouraging solution-focused thinking, exploring possible pathways, and holding the client accountable

4) Optimism

Optimism is a positive expectation about the future. Coaching boosts optimism by helping the client to appreciate the present, seek opportunities, and envision their best possible self

5) Resilience

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and cope with challenges. Coaching strengthens resilience by providing support, feedback, and perspective, and by teaching coping skills
